Description
The
Farm Holidays Agriturismo
Valleverde is situated halfway
Florence and Arezzo as well as on the
border to the Chianti Classico Area in
Tuscany.
In the green of the Chianti hills, only 5 minutes from San Giovanni Valdarno
away, in a very peaceful position, is situated the
antique farmhouse
Buca ai Falchi. It was once lying on the main
connection road to Florence, Siena and Arezzo. The
farm is composed of 40 ha of land, covered with wood,
vineyards, olive groves as well as
cultivation of fruit and vegetables
according to season. The farm takes its name from the
green valley (it. valle verde), a real oasis of
peace.
The
farm holiday itself was opened in 1997, after a
complete restructuring of the antique farmhouse and
the annexe buildings that were changed into apartments
and rooms with bathroom, each with own terrace. During
low and mid season there is the possibility to book
short stays of 2 nights for the rooms and 3 nights for
the apartments. Furthermore guests can book breakfast
(B&B) or half board. There is a small farm restaurant
with typical local cuisine and mainly farm products
are used.
In
the well-kept garden, right in front of the farmhouse,
a huge swimming pool (14 x 8 m) with whirlpool,
boccia and volleyball field, table
tennis as well as barbecue area.
Relaxing in the pool or at the veranda, guests can
observe from far the goats in the hills around
the farm.
Next to the pool was created a wooden pavillion,
offering space for up to 180 seats, for special
occasions such as weddings. At the guest's disposal
there is furthermore a laundry with washing machine
and iron.
Beside
the farm's goat, chicken and turkey breeding, Agriturismo Valleverde
produces wine, olive oil, different types of jam,
preserves as well as pickeled vegetables and
vegetables in oil.
Only 3 km from the farm is situated San Giovanni
Valdarno, birthplace of Masaccio and
today one of the most important places of the Arno
Valley near Arezzo. Already during the middle ages it
had an important role in the area. Testimonial of
these times are the narrow alleys, lined with
important palazzos in San Giovanni Valdarno's historic
centre. People can visit there the Basilica museum, Palazzo d'Arnolfo
or Masaccio's birthplace.
Those
who love nature, can rent on the spot mountain
bikes and discover the area open onto the Chianti Classico or
discover the small villages around such as Montevarchi (Museo Paleontologico
and Museo di Arte Sacra della Collegiata di San
Lorenzo), Loro Ciuffenna and Cavriglia
(Museo della Pieve). In the nearby Chianti Classico
we meet next Gaiole in Chianti
(21 km), followed by Radda in Chianti (24 km)
and to finish with Siena (51 km). Florence
is approx. 45 km away and Arezzo 35
km. The brand new Tuscan outlet
villages can be easily reached from here.
