The 4 star Hotel Resort Antico Casale di Scansano is situated about 2 km from the characteristic hilltop village Sansano away, in the midst of the marvellous landscape of the Maremma Tuscany.
As already indicated from the name, the hotel originates from an antique tuscan farm, transformed into a charming country hotel with wellness centre, riding school and many other services. The hotel is composed of several buildings in which are situated rooms and apartments.

In the main building is situated the reception, an internet point, a charming lounge with elegant furniture, cosy sofas for conversation or reading a book, a drawing room with fireplace, the smoking area, drawing rooms with veranda to enjoy a nice aperitif or to enjoy a stunning view over the countryside.
Next to the reception, guests will find riding articles, typical products such as bio-olive oil, honey, the red wine Morellino di Scansano, herb teas (depurant, relaxing, slimming, diuretic, stimolant), natural cosmetics with the hotel label from the beauty farm and many other gadgets Antico Casale di Scansano.

At Antico Casale di Scansano, the day starts with a rich breakfast buffet, servied in the nice winter garden with view over the swimming pool and the paddocks. 
Besides the classic Italian breakfast based on espresso, cappuccino and pastries, guests can choose between the unforgettable homemade cakes such as crostata (engl. tart), pancakes, ricotta and many other delicacies of local tradition. Those who prefer a rich breakfast will find a good choice of pizzas, focaccia, different types of cheese, ham, salami.... and, not to forget fresh cruspy bread, delicious jams, yoghurts and cereals.
At the  restaurant La Castagneta, open for lunch and dinner, there is a nice terrace with a refined and cosy atmosphere.

All dishes are created with a particular attention to Tuscan traditions and antique local recipes. Fresh homemade pasta, such as tagliatelle, tagliolini,  gnocchi, filled tortelli, brigoli and pappardelle.
For the main course one can choose between typical Tuscan dishes such as grilled meat, rich and extravagant dishes made of wild boar, rabbit, piglet or lamb. Vegetarians may opt for grilled vegetables, baked puddings and cheese. Furthermore there is particular attention for those who are allergic to particular ingredients!

Also dessert are homemade such as panna cotta wild-berries, pastry cream cakes, and the famous tozzetti to be eaten with Vin Santo, a typical dessert wine. Dishes are accompanied by an excellent wine seletcion, where naturally the local red wine Morellino di Scansano can't be missed.
You might discover the secrets of the typical Tuscan and Maremma cuisine, attending a cookery course, where you can learn the art of how to prepare homemade pasta, local meat specialities or desserts.
During your one-week stay, you can choose to follow the tuscan cookery course, including three days of practice and tasting and learning to prepare typical tuscan dishes, alternated with other activities on the remaining days, following your preferences with the help of the Antico Casale staff.

Antico Casale di Scansano provides two halls for your business meetings, conferences or conventions, in a fascinating and stimulating atmosphere. You can choose the Sala Panoramica, with a surface of 36 sq.m., with large windows on three sides of the room for a panoramic view over the nature of the Tuscan hills. The room can be blacked out for projections or other specific needs.
Or you can choose the Sala Rosa, with a surface of 70 sq.m., built with warm materials like wood, terracotta and stone. Both rooms can be prepared according to your needs. Upon request, there is the possibility to provide coffee-break service.

Next to the main hotel building is situated the fully-equipped Beauty Farm with many beauty and wellness programs, an indoor swimming pool, calidarium, tepidarium, laconicum and frigidarium, whirlpool bath, and massages, aesthetical treatments and Oriental disciplines.
At the beauty farm you'll find a wide range of beauty products. Three special lines containing the active principles and benefits of grapes, olive and thermal water respectively.

In the valley underneath the village of Scansano on the one hand and the hotel buildings on the other, is situated the outdoor swimming pool (15 x 7.50 m) surrounded by a well-cared garden with sun-beds and parasols, where only the neighing of horses or the rustling of the wind can break the peaceful silence. Every guest is given a towel for the swimming pool.
Also in the valley and not far from the swimming pool is situated the horse riding center.

You'll be guided by a group of professionals, dedicated to preserve the culture of the horse, have created a unique learning center. There is the possibility just to start riding in riding lessons for beginners or to take part in spectacular trails and trekking in an awesome landscape made of rolling Tuscan hills. There are also special courses for kids. Guests can also bring their own horse with them that will be kept in boxes or on the paddocks.
From Antico Casale di Scansano there is the possibility of excursions into the beautiful nature, on horseback or with the mountainbike, to visit characteristic places in the surroundings such as Rocchetta di Fazio, Saturnia, Sovana, Pitigliano and Sorano or to visit the sea of the nearby Argentario Coast.
