The farmstay Tenuta Il Sassone is situated in the beautiful  Maremma Tuscany, between Massa Marittima and the coast.
It is an exclusive countryside residence with 200 ha of farmland and 6 guest rooms, amongst the beautifully smelling Mediterranean landscape. On the spot, guests will find a pleasant combination of comfort and elegance of a 5 star hotel as well as the warm owner's hospitality, mixing their Tuscan-Lombard roots with love to detail and antique traditions. The luxurious rooms are equipped with beautiful bathrooms.

The villa is subdivided over two floors: on the ground floor is situated the elegant lounge with TV, hi-fi system, comfortable sofas, the beautiful dining room with fireplace, the charming kitchen as well as three of the 6 guest rooms (each with independent entrance from the outside piazzetta).
On the upper floor are situated three remaining rooms (with independent entrance from the terrace), the beautifully equipped billiard-room, with view over the picturesque landscape. This room is also ideal to sit together during the winter months or to observe with the telescope the stars. The billiard-room does have the complete equipment for small business meetings (max. 16 persons).

Not to forget, the elegant villa is part of an organic farming estate that produces DOC-wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables. Therefore, warm water and heating is produced by a high-technology biomass system, using vegetable remnants - normally unnecessary garbage - and is integrated with solar panels.
The morning at Tenuta Il Sassone starts with a rich breakfast buffet, with homemade jams, cakes...
During the winter, breakfast is served in the elegant dining room with fireplace, whereas during the summer months, breakfast takes place outside.

On request, it is possible to enjoy a typical Mediterranean dinner (except on Wednesday and Sunday), prepared with great care and use of only local, fresh and seasonal produce or, to enjoy at lunch time the lunch buffet.
After breakfast guests can relax in the park with water fontaines, trails through the Mediterranean herb garden or trekking routes starting from the farm into the countryside.
Another possibility is to relax on the beautiful natural terrace above the house, with the panorama pool.

From there guests can enjoy a stunning view over the medieval village of Tatti and the Perolla Valley underneath.The swimming pool is equipped for free style swimming, hydro jets, plantar and dorsal massage. Century-old oak trees on the right-hand side of the pool serve as natural sun protection. Part of Tenuta il Sassone's excellent service are complementary beach towels for their guests to enjoy while using the pool.
Also for the swimming pool was used "clean technology": both the filter and the purification system are innovative and environmentally friendly, using sea salt instead of chlorine.

On request, guests can be guided by the hosts (both sommeliers) through wine and product tastings. Several times a year, Simona organizes cooking courses with internationally renowned local cooks, always with a different subject. During the courses you might learn how to prepare a complete menu, to prepare homemade bread or pizza etc.
Besides relaxtion, guests can make trips to the beautiful hilltop villages in the neighbourhodd such as Tatti, Roccastrada, Roccatederighi.

Also the exclusive seaside resorts of the coast such as Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Follonica, to name some of the most important ones and their beautiful beaches can be reached quickly.
The most important places of historica and cultural interest in Tuscany can be easily reached for daytrips: Siena to be reached in approx. 40 minutes, the Chianti-Area in less than one hour, Florence, Pisa, Volterra and San Gimignano in about 1.5 h. The Tuscan islands  Elba and Giglio can be reached with the ferry from Piombino (ca. 30 Min.) or Porto S. Stefano (ca. 45 Min.).

Well educated pets that are fond of animals and people are welcome! Arturo and Tosca the farm dogs will be glad to find a new friend to play with.
