As a wheelchair user one should suppose that today a holiday without barriers is part of normal life. Unfortunately it is not. Even though in the last years the situation has been improving, there are still just a too view beaches, accommodations, restaurants and services that are accessible. It could be a progress that many of the bathing establishment during the restauration works have created a bathroom that is at least accessible, but however, there are too many things itself which often, without the help of an accompanying person plus personnel make it impossible to make use of the most simple things in everyday life such as to go to a restaurant, access to a boutique etc…. You will find here a link with a list of bathing establishments and free beaches in Tuscany that can be accessed by a wheelchair user with/without help. One of the most accessible beaches in Tuscany is in the seaside resort Follonica, the Tangram beach.
