The Region of Tuscany is situated in central position, bordering north-west with Liguria, north with Emilia Romagna, east with the Marches and Umbia, south with the Latium region.
The whole region of Tuscany is composed of 10 Provinces that are: Arezzo, Grosseto, Florence, Livorno, Lucca, Massa Carrara, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena. Tuscany is one of the most important regions regarding history, art treasures, culture as well as the beautiful landscape. Besides art and culture or holiday in the countryside, there is also a beautiful coast, extending from the Versilia Coast in northern Tuscany until the Maremma in southern Tuscany, bordering with the Latium region. Right in front of the coast, there are beautiful islands: Elba, the biggest Tuscan Island, followed by size by Giglio, Capraia, Gorgona, Montecristo, Pianosa as well as the very small island group Le Formiche in the Province of Grosseto (southern Tuscany).

Entry requirements:

Using the phone in Italy:
In Italy, the area code (beginning with a “0”) is an integral part of the phone number and must always be used, even when calling from the same area. The leading zero is not dropped when calling from outside Italy. For example, the British Embassy in Rome has the number 06 4220 0001. You must dial the full number, including the 06, even when calling from Rome. Calling from outside Italy, you dial 0039 06 4220 0001, without dropping the leading zero.  Numbers beginning with the code 800 are “green” or toll-free numbers. But they are not always available from outside Italy, or when calling from a mobile phone. You can consult online the Italian Phone Book  (Pagine Bianche) and the Italian Yellow Pages (Pagine Gialle). In order to use the international roaming, for further information and costs, you should contact your provider. To phone from Italy outwards you must use the international prefix for the desired country. Mosttimes after the international prefix, you must leave “0” before the area code. For example calling to the UK you must dial 0044 and then leave away the “o” of the area code. The same is for the USA 001 + area code without “0”.
