The Villa

Casa Monte Cristo nestles among a working olive grove in the charming, green hills of the Maremma area in southern Tuscany. The house has been completely renovated, and faithfully maintains the original style and architectural features of a traditional Tuscan farmhouse. The house comfortably offers space for 4 people, plus 2 people that can make use of the bed settee in one of the living rooms (in addition there is a single foldaway bed, for occasional use). The house has full central heating with instant hot water, and is comprehensively equipped; including coffee-makers; kettle; iron & ironing board; microwave oven; washing machine and dishwasher; fridge/freezer.

Casa Monte Cristo is subdivided over two floors: the ground floor, composed of:

·         Living Room; 'Music Room' - with bed settee (double); Hi-fi; armchair; coffee tables; open fire (wood/coal); and with direct access through French doors onto the porch (loggia)

·         Loggia (outside porch); with foldaway dining table and benches; two-seater settee and two armchairs

·         Kitchen: 'Cucina' - completely equipped with kitchenware, cutlery etc., gas hob + electric oven, dining table and chairs

·         Utility room: 'Cantina' - with automatic washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer

·         Sitting Room: 'Salone' - 2 No. settees; 3 No. armchairs; coffee tables; Chinese daybed.  This room has direct access to the outside.

·         Bedroom: 'The Stables'  - composed of double bed, wardrobe, two armchairs.  This room also has direct access to the outside.

·         Bathroom 'Bagno Blu'  - with large corner bath and 'rain shower', WC, bidet, wash-hand basin

·         Shower room: 'Bagno Rosso' - with shower, WC, wash-hand basin

The upper internal floor is composed of one bedroom only that can be accessed via a 'ships-ladder' type staircase from the 'Music Room' below, or from outside over the upper terrace: 

·         Bedroom; 'The Barracks' - has a stunning view over the valley underneath and contains: double bed; small wardrobe; two armchairs. This room has direct access onto the upper terrace where there is an outside dip pool.

Externally, there is the Upper Terrace, with: 3.6m dia. 'dip pool'; green portable table; two teak folding chairs.

Also, close to the house, but in a secluded location in the lower olive grove, there is a two-person Garden Swing.
