Borgo Santinovo - Farm Holiday Appartamenti Colle di Val d'Elsa TuscanyBorgo Santinovo is situated in Tuscany in the upland of the Chianti hills in the Elsa Valley, only 4 km from Colle Val d'Elsa and 16 km from San Gimignano away.
A road framed with age-old cypresses takes to the medieval hamlet Santinovo which was already mentioned in the 10th century. In the middle ages it was a nunnery that is testified by the small church of San Giusto.
The whole property, including two main buildings and two annexes, is composed of 11 holiday apartments. During the restoration works the structure of the convent was left untouched, maintaining the architectural charm of a medieval convent with staggered roofs, arcades, terraces, thick stone walls and inside vaulted ceilings, wooden beams and terracotta floors.

Borgo Santinovo Chianti Senese - Swimming PoolThe hamlet is surrounded by a well-kept green park of 1.5 ha with a swimming pool (11x8 m).
Around the pool a sun deck with deck chairs and directly next, a terrace equipped with garden furniture and parasols.
Also in the park there are several furnished angles shaded by age-old trees like mulberry-trees, pinetrees, oak trees and cypresses in order to offer complete relaxation in contact with nature.
Borgo Santinovo has also a banqueting-hall for special occasions, where it is possible to organize festivities of every type with catering service.

Borgo Santinovo - Chianti Colli Senesi wine and GrappaL'Agriturismo Borgo Santinovo produces also two types of red wine Chianti Colli Senesi D.O.C.G. - Chianti Riserva and Chianti Colli Senesi Tardivo, two red IGT wines, one white wine IGT made of Chardonnay grapes and two types of Grappa, a young one and a golden coloured, aged in barrique barrels. The products can be purchased directly on the spot in the small farm shop.
Even if Borgo Santinovo is situated in the landscape out of town, it is possible to reach within a short time several places in Tuscany that are of historical interest. Colle Val d'Elsa, famous for the crystal art is only 4 km away, Poggibonsi 12 km and the characteristic medieval village of Monteriggioni, surrounded by a boundary wall with 14 watch towers and San Gimignano are only 16 km away. Certaldo, birthplace of Giovanni Boccaccio, author of "Il Decamerone" and Siena, the town of the palio, are 25 km from Borgo Santinovo; Volterra and Castellina in Chianti 30 km.

Florence and Radda in Chianti (40 km) can be reached within about half an hour and Pisa (90 km), Lucca (110) and the coast in approximately one hour by car.
