Casa Morandi - Landhaus mit Ferienwohnungen Massa Marittima Maremma ToskanaCasa Morandi, a charming antique farmhouse, completely built in the local stone, near to the hilltop village Massa Marittima (Maremma Tuscany), dating back to the 17th century. Far from noise and traffic, surrounded by olive groves and a well-cared mediterranean park dominating over the hilltop village Massa Marittima and the sea.
The farmhouse has been recently and very tastefully restored in a mixture of modern comfort and the original farmhouse-style structure. Besides the owner's apartment, there are two beautiful holiday apartments available, one studio-apartment for 2 persons and another spacious apartment for 4 guests, ideal also for two couples. Each apartment disposes of a private outside sitting space with table and chairs.

Casa Morandi - Ferienwohnungen Massa Marittima Maremma ToskanaCasa Morandi seems to be a real oasis of peace, where one might sit here and there in the garden to enjoy, the heat of the sun or the freshness of the shadow and cool down during a swim in the enormous panorama pool. Chilling on the comfotable sunbeds in this panoramic position, is a pure delight.
From Casa Morandi you may have long walks or do trekking in the beautiful surrounding countryside, the so called Colline Metallifere, the metalliferous hills. If this paradise is not enought for you, only 7 km away lies the medieval gem Massa Marittima.

Casa Morandi - Schwimmen mit Ausblick auf die Toskana-KüsteThe picturesque cathedral square is framed by the seat of the municipality, shops, cafes and restaurants. In the 90s of the past century it was scenery of the German TV series "A house in Tuscany" (Ein Haus in der Toskana) and furthermore, this square is one of the most beautiful squares in Italy.
It is absolutely worth walking through the narrow alleys up to the new town, città nuova, dating back to the late Middle Ages.
Twice a year, the last Sunday in May and the second Sunday in August, takes place the Balestro del Girifalco, a medieval crossbow competition whose participants are dressed in medieval robes. In the beginning of August, the beautiful cathedral square is also scenery of the opera concerts Lirica in Piazza. It is a great pleasure for the host to accompany you in the antique center, to make you discovering the beauty and the history of this place.

Casa Morandi - luxuriöse Ferienwohnungen mit Freisitz und Swimmingpool Massa MarittimaFrom Massa Marittima it is possible to reach in about 20 minutes the Maremma Coast with the seaside resort, lying in the gulf of the same name, with shallow water, thanks to Elba Island lying right in front.
Along the whole coast it is possible to practice any kind of water sports such as diving, sailing, surfing etc. With the mini cruises along the coast you can discover the Maremman islands such as Giglio or Giannutri and also Elba island. You might also reach these islands on your own with the ferryship. Along the coast there are many picturesque places worth visitin such as the romantic Castiglione della Pescaia, worth visitin not only during the day, but also by night, having dinner in one of the characteristic restaurants and finally stroll through the narrow alleys eating some ice-cream.

Casa Morandi - luxuriöse Ferienwohnungen Massa Marittima Maremma ToskanaEverywhere in the area, the Etruscans have left their traces, such as in today's small sleepy village Vetulonia, next to Castiglione della Pescaia. In this antique Etruscan capital, it is possible to learn more about their advanced culture in the museum as well as in the excavations around the village. Grosseto, the capital of the province can be reached driving a few kilometres further south. This city is worth discovering, especially on Thursday the market-day, when it is possible to combine shopping and culture. Nearly connected with Grosseto is the nature reserve Parco Naturale della Maremma, with guided visits to be discovered doing trekking, by bike, on horseback, with the carriage or  the canoe or with the fisher boat.

Casa Morandi - herrliche Ausblicke, soweit das Auge reichtThe deep south of the Maremma is taken by the peninsula Monte Argentario with Giglio Island lying in front, whereas the hinterland with characteristic hilltop villages such as Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana or the healing waters of the antique spa resort Saturnia should be discovered.
Moving from Massa Marittima along the coast towards North, there is the Gulf of Baratti where you can combine relaxation on the beautiful beach and discovering the Etruscan necropolis right behind. If you drive instead from Massa Marittima to the northern hinterland, you can reach in about 1 hour by car San Gimignano, Volterra, Siena and in about 1 hour and a half Florence.

Casa Morandi is therefore a beautiful place for a retreat, but offers the ideal starting point to discover in particular the Maremma as well as the most important places in Tuscany.
