Podere Santa Lucia - Description

Podere Santa Lucia is a alone standing country villa situated in the open countryside on the hillside, on whose top is erecting Volterra in Tuscany.
It is a marvellous position, offering a panoramic view over the whole Cecina Valley lying underneath with the Tyrrhenian Sea in the background. On clear days it is possible to get a glimpse of Corsica.
Volterra is only a stone's throw from the house away; the last houses are not more than 100 m distant, whereas the center can be reached in approximately 10 minutes walking.
Podere Santa Lucia is a real Tuscan farmhouse, whose origins are dating back to the first half of the past century. Around the house a huge garden, once farmland, cultivated with fruit trees, vineyards and olive groves as well as seasonal vegetables.

The farmhouse is subdivided over two floors. On the ground floor there is a covered veranda, whereas the upper floor has a marvellous, huge panoramic terrace. Another small terrace, ideal for reading can be found on the first floor of the back of the house.

Volterra is famous all over the world for the extraction and working of the alabaster stone as well as for the enchanting historic center, dating back to the Etruscan epoch.
From this era has been conserved the access gates to the historic center Porta all'Arco and Porta Diana, as well as great part of the boundary walls. Furthermore there are the Roman ruins and the buildings of the historic center, mainly dating back to the Middle Ages.

The name Volterra, during the Etruscan epoch called Velathri was subsequently adapted to latin Volaterrae and from there derived today's name. 
In the center can be found shops, bars, restaurants, boutiques, artisan shops, alabaster shops and naturally there are also grocer's and supermarkets. Podere Santa Lucia does not have a swimming pool, but a huge garden with table, chairs, deck chairs, parasols that may give you the opportunity to find complete relaxation with a book or simply enjoying the unique panoramic view. Those who want to have a swim can make huse of Volterra's indoor swimming pool that is only approximately 100 m distant and can be easily reached on foot. The sea and the marvellous sand beaches of the Etruscan Coast can be reached in a bit more than half an hour by car.
From here, it is possible to visit the whole region Tuscany. Within a short time it is possible to reach the most important places in Tuscany, such as Pisa 65 km, Florence 80 km, Siena 53 km, San Gimignano 30 km, the Chianti Classico region 40 km, Cecina and the seaside 40 km or Lucca 73 km.
