Description

Agriturismo Escaia is situated halfway between Volterra and San Gimignano, in the centre of Tuscany. The farm is composed of 112 ha farm land, surrounded by olive groves, woods and gentle hills that are alternating with the valleys, until viewing in the background Volterra.
Escaia was originally a medieval hamlet, dating back to the year 1050, composed of an antique stone farmhouse and three other buildings, all completely built in the local stone. In the course of the years, the farmhouse, one annex and the former barn have been completely restructured, obtaining 5 holiday apartments of different size, able to accommodate two, four and six people. All apartments have independent heating.

As the farm is far away from any noise of streets or twosn, guests can enjoy here complete peace and tranquillity.
The apartments in the annex buildings have their own private outside space with tables and chairs in front of the entrance, whereas the two apartments situated in the farmhouse, can make use of the outside spaces in the garden. Underneath the main house, pefectly inserted in the nature of the hill, is situated the swimming pool. Furthermore, guests have a stone oven and a barbecue at their disposal.

In the farmhouse there is also a spacious room with fireplace, a long table with banks, sittings etc., where guests can meet or eat all together.
Those who love nature can start directly in the morning on foot or with the mountain bike to discover the sweet and wild landscape, where woods are alternating with green soft slopes. Otherwise, at 16 km, is rising impressing Etruscan Volterra, with its more than 3000 years of history, famous in particular for the  Alabaster; or, at only 15 km San Gimignano, that with its medieval towers is worth visiting at least one time.

In about 40 minutes by car it is possible to reach Siena or the seaside with seaside resorts such as  Cecina, Marina di Bibbona, Donoratico, Castiglioncello. In one hour by car one can easily reach Pisa and Florence.
