Description

Hotel Corys is a small, charming hotel, situated 1 km outside the antique centre of Cortona (Province of Arezzo), on the border from Tuscany to Umbria, offering an extraordinary view over the Chiana Valley and the Trasimeno Lake.

The name Corys comes from a legend telling that Dardano lost during a fight on this hill his helmet (Greek meaning for helmet is Corys and from there Corito, that later on became Cortona). 
Hotel Corys is situated in the Torreone area of Cortona, a calm area on the top of a hill towards south. The hotel has a small hall with reception, bar, lift, restaurant with panorama terrace and only 7 double rooms with private bath, equipped with all mods and cons (air condition, TV, telephone, internet connection, hairdryer, etc.).

Most of the rooms are facing the valley, with the Trasimeno Lake, whereas the others have a small terrace equipped with table and chairs to pace peaceful moments of complete relaxation. 
The hotel has no architectural features that deny access to the handicapped. 
On the ground floor is situated the refined Restaurant (also opened for the public) that offers an à la carte menu with typical Tuscan products, accompanied by a well-selected choice of local and Italian wines. Both, the inside as well as the terrace offer a marvellous panoramic view. 

Upon request it is possible to book your wedding dinner or complete menu for other special occasions. 
At Hotel Corys it is also possible to book special Accommodation Packages like Tuscan cooking classes at the restaurant with final tasting of the prepared dishes, naturally always accompanied by a good glass of the local wine. 
Furthermore, in the inserted in the hill, there is the brand-new swimming pool at the guest's disposal.

From the hotel it is possible to have long, relaxing walks in the countryside underneath Cortona. You will sure pass at Bramasole, the farmhouse that Frances Mayes purchased in Tuscany and whose experiences let her write the bestseller Under the Tuscan Sun, only 300 m away. 
On foot one can also easily reach Cortona's centre, surrounded by 3 km of antique city walls, of which at least 2/3 correspond to the antique Etruscan walls on which were built those that are even today existing. 
Hotel Corys is the ideal starting point to visit the whole area around Arezzo and Siena, the Trasimeno Lake as well as the near fascinating towns in Umbria like Perugia, Assisi and Gubbio. 
There is also the possibility to book guided trips on the spot: riding, hunting and fishing in the Trasimeno Lake.
