Description
Hotel
dei Tigli is situated in a quiet residential
area of Lido di Camaiore in Versilia.
Notwithstanding the hotel is only 200 m from the
beach away, it lies in a calm side street, near to
the sea promenade and the shops of Lido di
Camaiore.
It is a family run hotel with 30 bright and spacious
rooms, everyone with private bathroom. Most of the
rooms do also have a balcony.
In
the morning, a rich breakfast buffet with
sliced ham, cheese, homemade cakes, fresh croissants,
jam, yoghurt and cereals, juice, coffee, tea and other
things necessary to have a good start for the day. At
lunch and dinner it is possible to taste the typical
Tuscan cuisine, from the country- and from the
seaside, with well selected ingredients prepared with
great care. The meals, naturally prepared by the
family members, are accompanied by Tuscan wines.
On
the ground floor of the hotel there is an American
bar, where it is possible to have espresso,
cappuccino, cold drinks or just a delicious aperitif.
In front of the hotel, a garden space equipped
with tables, chairs and sunshade parasols, whereas on
the top of the hotel building is a panorama terrace
also equipped with sun beds, offering the perfect
alternative to the beach. There is also the
possibility to use the hotel bikes for trips in
the surroundings. At the guest's disposal a parking
with a limited number of parking spaces.
The
strategic position of Lido di Camaiore and the
whole Versilia makes it possible to pass a
holiday undertaking a lot of excursions or just
absolute relaxation. In the hotel there is an
information point provided with brochures and maps of
places to visit in Tuscany:
Lucca is just 25 km away with the unique city
walls in Italy surrounding the historic centre of a
length of 4200 m. On the walls it is possible to walk
or to go by bike (to be rented in the centre) and
admire from there on the one side the architectural
beauty of the town and on the other the hills around,
dotted with villas.
Pisa,
28 km away with the leaning tower as world wide symbol
does not only have to offer the tower, but also a
charming centre as well as a beautiful countryside and
a Nature Reserve that are worth seeing.
A little bit farer away is Carrara (40 km
motorway), the town with the most valuable marble
quarries in the world and sceneries that already were
enchanting Michelangelo. From Carrara it is possible
to reach Colonnata, a small village in a
panoramic position above Carrara, where the quarrymen
live.
After
tasting the delicious lard ("Lardo di Colonnata")
one continues towards the marble quarries
"Fantiscritti" where it is possible to visit an
interesting open-air museum illustrating the
excavation techniques. Montecatini (50 km) with
the spas, already famous during the Roman Empire,
invites for a visit in the town centre with parks,
cafés and many elegant shops. Florence, the
cradle of the Renaissance is only 90 km away and
Siena 150 km. The area around Siena boasts of the
most typical countryside for Tuscany. Siena itself is
world wide renowned for the Palio taking place twice a
year.
At Hotel dei Tigli you have the possibility to decide
day by day if facing a trip to the places of cultural
and artistic interest in Tuscany or if just to get
relaxed on the beach.
