Motorway A1 
 
1. Exit from the motorway A1 at FIRENZE SUD and follow in the direction of PONTASSIEVE-BAGNO A RIPOLI.

2. Follow always towards Pontassieve and when you arrive, follow towards FORLI' until you arrive at RUFINA.

3. Drive through the village until reaching the pharmacy, where you should turn left.

4. After about 200 metres, passing over a bridge of the river Sieve, you will arrive at  Montebonello. Within the square Piazza Pertini turn right and then immediately left and right again.

5. Follow then towards ACONE. After 2.5 kms you will see on the left-hand side a sign with "Podere Il Poggiolo", where you should turn left.

6. Continue for 600 metres up the hill until you arrive at the gate of the farm.

Alternatives by car:

Coming from Bologna A1:

1. Exit at BARBERINO.

2. Follow for about 35 km the road towards BORGO S.LORENZO-PONTASSIEVE, until arriving at RUFINA.

3. In the centre of Rufina, on the junction, you will find a pharmacy, where you should turn right. Follow until MONTEBONELLO (see above from point 4 on).

Coming from South (Rome) A1

1. Exit at INCISA.

2. Turn right and follow on the Statal Road SS 69 for about 18 km until reaching Pontassieve. (from here see above from point 2).

By plane or train:
The farm "Podere il Poggiolo" is situated in the countryside and therefore if you decide to arrive by plane or train, you should however rent a car in order to reach the farm and to plan excursions. The next airport is Amerigo Vespucci in Florence, which is connected with the main European towns. The next railway station is situated at Rufina (4 km away) that has good railway connections with the main station in Florence "Santa Maria Novella". The train could be a good alternative to the car to visit Florence.
