The apartment La Scaletta is situated in the centre of Lucca, in the antique road Via del Fosso, in front of the park of the Villa Bottini.

Toskana.net - Via del Fosso - Lucca Lucca is situated in the valle of the river Serchio, at the foot of the Apuan Alps and only a few kilometres from the Versilia and the famous seaside resorts Forte dei Marmi, Marina di Pietrasanta and Viareggio away.
The centre of Lucca is enclosed by the medieval boundary walls of a circumference of 4 km. The walls were built in the middle of the 16th century in order to defend its independence as municipium against Florence, the greatest enemy. All the various epochs, starting from the Etruscan-Roman until the French occupation, are even visible today in the various buildings, Lucchesian art and culture. Lucca has preserved an unmistakable charm that should absolutely be seen. Particularly from the walls it is possible to enjoy an insight into the characteristic town centre

Toskana.net - Torre Guinigi - Lucca On the walls it is possible to take a walk (it. passeggiata delle mura) or to go by bike (to be rented in the centre). The historical centre seen from inside is characterized by small alleys framed with shops, bars, typical restaurants, mediterranean parks and churches. Because of the great number of churches, Lucca is also called the city of the hundreds of churches (it. la cittą delle cento chiese). Seen Lucca from above, like from the tower Torre Guinigi or the Clock Tower (Torre delle Ore), one can admire the typical red tiled roofs.
The nice thing of Lucca is that the city is located in a central position. In less than half an hour it is possible to reach Pisa or the sea. Florence, the Chianti-Region, Pistoia, Prato... are also reachable within a short time. But staying in Lucca, one should not only concentrate on the classical things worth seeing, for which Tuscany is famous all over the world, but get to know Lucca's surroundings.

Toskana.net - Ponte della Maddalena called Ponte del Diavolo - Borgo a Mozzano Lucca Lucca is the ideal point of departure to visit the Garfagnana, where it is still possible to see picturesque small hamlets, reminding the middle ages. Only a few minutes from Lucca away is situated Borgo a Mozzano, known for the so called Devil's Bridge (it. Ponte del Diavolo) that takes its name from a legend or the neoclassical chain bridge Ponte delle Catene at Bagni di Lucca. As already the name indicates, there are thermal bathes which date back to the Romans and are still used today.

Toskana.net - Passeggiata delle Mura - Lucca The Garfagnana is a beautiful hilly region, which does not remember the typical Tuscan landscape with gentle slopes, cypresses, wine groves or olive trees, but an enchanting mountainous region with a unique nature.
La Scaletta is situated within an antique palazzo, only a few steps from all the things worth seeing away. The apartment offers space for 2 or 4 people. Here one can feel as at home. Because of the thick walls, in the summer, the apartment is fresh and in the winter, it maintains the heat. La Scaletta: During the day one can discover Lucca and the surroundings or the beautiful art towns and in the evening the delicious cuisine in Lucca accompanied by the local wines.
