From the motorway
Exit the motorway follow towards the city centre "centro" and then towards the train station. There, you have to turn left and at the next crossing right. Enter at the gate Porta Elisa and continue on this road until you reach the entrance of another gate (Porta S. Gervasio). In front of this gate turn right into the Via del Fosso. After about 100 m you will find on the left-hand side La Scaletta (in front of the iron gate).

From Viareggio
Exit the motorway A12 and follow always towards "Centro" and follow then towards PORTA S. PIETRO. Drive through the gate and turn immediately right. Stay on this road until the end, where you automatically should turn left into the Via del Fosso. At the crossing of Via Elisa/Via Santa Croce, continue always straight. La Scaletta is after a few meters on the left-hand side, in front of the entrance to the park of Villa Bottini. 

Parking
The nearest Parking is the EX CASERMA MAZZINI, located in Via della Quarquonia. If you prefer to go directly to the parking, you should go into the following direction: 
In Lucca go always towards the station. There, you have to turn left and at the next crossing right. Enter at the gate Porta Elisa and take the 3rd street right (Via Santa Chiara) and at the end ot this road, at Piazza S. Francesco,  turn right again and after about 50 m it is possible to see the entrance of the parking on the left-hand side. From 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. the parking is chargeable. During the night the parking is free. 

To reach the apartment, you should leave the parking where you entered with the car and turn right into Via della Quarquonia, pass Piazza S. Francesco and continue always straight, until you can see a small bridge. Pass this bridge and turn left into Via del Fosso. After 150 m on the right-hand side, in front of the iron gate of Villa Bottini, you will see the stairs or as the Italians say "la scaletta".
