Description
The Tuscan farmhouse
Le Torri is situated on the top of a hill at
San Quirico in Collina that is part of the municipality of
Montespertoli.
The farmhouse is a typical 13th century building, entirely made of
stone. Le Torri is surrounded by a marvellous mediterranean garden with
swimming pool, where our guests can relax in peace. In front of the house there is a small road tarried with cypresses that takes to the
Castello di Poppiano, about 2 km away.
Montespertoli is part of the Chianti Classico. On the surrounding hills that reach a height of 257 m, are
cultivated grapes and olive-groves for the production of best quality olive oil and wine.
Infact, within this wine-growing area, the so called
Strada del Vino di Montespertoli (engl. the wine route of Montespertoli), is produced
excellent wine, such as the red wine
Chianti di Montespertoli DOCG as well as the DOC-wines (wines of
certified origin and quality)
Chianti Colli and Chianti dell'Etruria
centrale, famous all over the world. The numerous "fattorias" (wine-growing estates) nearby, invite for wine-tasting accompanied
with typical
Tuscan products.
In less than one hour it is possible to reach the Carthusian monastery
Certosa di Galluzzo as well as the capital of art and culture,
Florence (20 km), Montelupo Fiorentino,
Poggio a Caiano, Carmignano, Artimino
(Medici-villa, excellent wine) and the moutain Montalbano.
Also Vinci, birthplace of the famous inventor Leonardo, is nearby. Pisa
(60 km) with the famous leaning tower,
Siena (50 km), Volterra,
S. Gimignano (30 Km), Lucca and the
Tuscan coast can be reached in about one hour by car. Rome,
the Italian capital is about 230 km away.
Within the village San Quirico in Collina, one can find the most important shops such as:
chemist, bank, post office, grocer's shop with typical products and a restaurant, where one can taste the delicous local dishes.
Tennis courts are only 3 km from the farmhouse away. Whereas a
horse-riding-center, with riding-lessons for adults
and children, is approximately 4 km distant.
The nearest golf course is the 9-hole Fontevivo Golf
Club, in San Miniato, about 30 minutes away. It is said that S. Miniato is the birthplace of Matilde di Canossa. Furthermore, the small town is known for the white
truffles.
Every Tuesday morning takes place the weekly market
in Montespertoli. Whereas one of the biggest weekly
markets takes place every Thursday morning in Empoli.
The apartments are furnished with the typical Tuscan
