Not far away from S. Gimignano (27 km) and Volterra (15 km), within an area that is often defined as one of the most beautiful areas in Tuscany is located the Bio-Agriturismo Pratini. 
On the farm that conducts organic farming, one can pass a relaxing holiday within an unspoiled nature of the faszinating hills around Volterra.
Guests can choose between single farmhouses and holiday apartments with pool. All accommodations are situated within typical Tuscan buildings, whose oldest is dating back to 1664.

The accommodations have been recently restored, maintaining the typical Tuscan style with natural materials such as stone, terracotta and wooden beams. The three farmhouses, each with own swimming pool (15x7 m, opened from 15.05. until 30.09.), are all surrounded by a nice garden.
Their distances, from one to the other, vary between 300 m and 6 km. La Capannina is a small single country cottage, whereas the other farmhouses Pratini and Ruffilli are composed of holiday apartments.

All accommodations are tastefully furnished and equipped with all mods and cons. On the spot there is also a barbecue, where guests can grill for example the typical Florentine t-bone steak "bistecca alla fiorentina" (the property will inform you where you can buy the original meat of the so called "Chianina"-breed). 
Bio-Agriturismo Pratini has started in the beginning of the eighties with biological farming. This means that all the products come from cultivations without any chemical treatments. Guests can taste traditional cooking during the special product tastings and dinners.

There you can taste delicious pizzas, crispy bread and focaccia, baked in the wood-fired oven. Dishes are prepared with cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and accompanied by the red wine.
The flour derives from organic wheat, ground with a stone mill. For those who are curious to learn more about traditional Tuscan cuisine the farm offers short cooking courses. Underneath La Capannina there is also a small lake at disposal, where one can enjoy the healthy clay for skin and body care. 

From all the houses it is possible to discover the marvellous surroundings by walking, on horseback or by bike.Horse riding is only 6 km away, golf course 15 km (Castelfalfi) and a very good restaurant 7 km.
One can reach in about half an hour Pisa (47 km) and in three quarters of an hour, Lucca (52 km). The coast, Florence and Siena are reachable within one hour by car.
