Description
The
Valentina Nuova farm is situated in the
southern part of the Maremma Natural Park, about
3 km from the sea of Talamone in Tuscany. One
arrives on the farm, driving over an imposing access
avenue, lined with cluster-pines.
Behind the gate, two antique stone farmhouses, one
inhabited by the owners, the other with 3 holiday
apartments. In the centre of the courtyard, a trough,
from where in the past cattles would quench their
thirst. In many
angles between the two farmhouses, one can notice the
oil jars, dating back to the beginning of the past
century that today are witness of the farm's former
oil mill acitivity.
Around
the organic farm, soft hills, typical for the Maremma
area, the olive groves with approximately 3,000 olive
trees, sown fields and pastures with the cattles
(cows, horses etc.), living in a wild state. In this
marvellous landscape one can easily meet wild boars,
fallow deers, roe deers, hares and foxes, masters of
the nature and therefore not afraid of approaching the
farmhouses.
The Valentina Nuova farm can also give hospitality to
horses and horesemen, as well as organize excursions
with guide both within the park as between the hills,
where the delicious "Morellino di Scansano" wine
grapes are growing.
The
horsemen will be accommodated in apartments, whereas
the horses will stay in boxes or on the paddock.
The minimum programme is of 3 days up to 6 days and 10
up to 12 people can participate per group. It is
recommended to choose the period from September until
June of the following year, as in July and August,
horses are not allowed to enter the park. Being
nearly at the sea, it is worth spending a day together
with a fisher in the sea, living the life for one day
of a real "pescatore".
Close
by, there is also the possiblity to take part in
guided tours in the Nature Reserve, to get riding
lessons or to go riding, mountain bike, canoe, sailing, kite surfing
and to practice any kind of water sports. Furthermore
there is a tennis court and a golf course. The
Argentario area with Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano,
from where are starting the ferries to reach the
islands of Giglio and Giannutri is just 25 km away,
whereas the "Giardino dei Tarrocchi" of the artist Niki
de Saint Phalle in Capalbio or the Spas in Saturnia
can be reached in approximately 30 minutes by car.
Those
who love the sea, can enjoy the rocks at Talamone
with the crystal clear water or the so called "Wind-Beach",
the beach of surfers and kitesurfers.
Who prefers a kilometer-long sand beach that, in particularly
is ideal for children, can find this just approximately
5 km further south of Fonteblanda.
At the Valentina Nuova farm it is possible to pass
a pleasant and relaxing holiday, with the freedom
of open spaces, within a totally natural context.
