Farmstay Description

The farmstay Agriturismo Villa Rosselmini is situated outside the small village of Calci, approximately 10 km from Pisa and 15 km from the Seaside away.
Villa Rosselmini is surrounded by twenty hectares of land, cultivated with wheat, olive groves and vineyards. There are 10 holiday apartments available, that are located in different buildings on the farmland. They have for common use the park as well as the swimming pool (13 x 6 m) with sunbeds and parasols, opened from May until September. In the park there is also a small children's playground, a sports filed for football or volleyball, a barbecue as well as sitting areas with table and chairs. On the sport, guests can rent mountain bikes. The accommodation is glad in recommending you what to see.

Some History

The estate was once summer residence of the old noble family Rosselmini, who during the winter lived in the Palazzo Rosselmini in Via Santa Maria in Pisa. The construction of the villa is dating back to the 15th century. In the course of the centuries the villa has undergone several changes, such as the addition of a wing, connecting the villa with the chapel. In the wing are situated today 4 holiday apartments. Once the priest lived in the chapel. During the 19th century, the property was uninhabited, thus the buildings felt into decay. Then, today's owner started with the restoration of the villa, where he lives today and finally with the other farm buildings that were changed into holiday apartments if not used for farm proposes.

Location

The small village of Calci is only 500 m from the farmstay away.
The village, with small restaurants, groceries, supermarkets etc. can be reached on foot.
Calci is famous for the beautiful 18th century Carthusian monastery Certosa di Calci. Until the eighties some monks were living in the monastery; today it is a natural history museum. It is absolutely worth visiting the small hilltop villages of the area, with trattorias, where one can taste the local, unchanged cuisine and local wines. Around Calci one can go hiking, mountainbiking (to rent on ths spot) and futhermore there are tennis courts and golf courses.

Agriturismo Villa Rosselmini is the ideal starting point for the most important highlights in Tuscany:
the highway Fi-Pi-Li can be reached in less than 10 minutes, Pisa 10 km, Pisa Airport and the sea 15 km, Lucca 20 km, Florence 50 km, Siena 150 km. From Pisa to Calci there is a bus connection and the bus station is only 100 m from the farm away. From Pisa train stations there are very good train connections for all over Tuscany (Lucca, Florence etc.) as well as Italy.
